This is an engine cover protector. It bolts over the Water Pump cover protecting the lower half that is vulnerable in a crash.

Assembly is straightforward, though it would be good to supply an o-ring. Esp since the sv is 20+years old you can't be sure to use the OEM o ring. Now I have to purchase a separate o-ring from Suzuki. Considering the price of this item (plus shipping and customs fee) I would expect this to be included. Having said that, the quality is outstanding

Quick install on 2021 XSR 900. The replaceable red skid plate complements the factory red on the tank. I wanted a little more protection than the frame sliders provide. I’m confident with what I now have.
