The overwhelming responses were: low lift effort- clearance for working- and wheel design (for ease of rolling and stability). Adjustable Rear Spool Stand
Big improvement over my prior stand. With the ability to adjust the stand, the lift force is much less.

I found it quite easy too adjust and use, however when making adjustments with the hitch pin at the bottom of the legs a lot of minor adjustments are missed due to the spacing of the holes for the pins. As an example: let's say you set the arms at # 6 with the pins in, If you remove the pins your next point of adjustment may come at Number 10 or 11, on the scale thereby missing 7,8 and 9, which could be the sweet spot for a particular bike.
